Contract Services

The Contract Services Department is responsible for contract administration of various services-type contracts on behalf of all UAMS departments.

The below is an example of contracts for which the Contract Services (CSD) department provides oversight and/or processing; however, this list is not all-inclusive:

  • Consultant Services Contracts

  • Professional Services Contracts

  • Lease of Real Estate Property

  • Clinical Affiliation Agreements (Clinical Learning/Experience of Students)

  • Salary and Expense recovery contracts (e.g. Interns and Residents, Office Space, VA, and ACH)

  • Memorandum of Agreements (between U of A campuses)

  • Executive/Clinical Search Firms

  • Various Capital Equipment Leases (e.g. lease-to-purchase, reagent/consumables with equipment, etc.)

  • Nursing Services

  • Language and Sign Interpreters Services

  • Household moves and laboratory relocations are processed by the CDS via a prime vendor contract

Additionally, the CSD serves as a liaison between campus departments, University of Arkansas Systems’ office and the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration for processing of the above contracts when applicable.

The CSD also identifies and develops Request for Proposals (RFP) for services/software/equipment required by the campus. Rather than using "low bid" as the sole criteria for selection, these types of contracts are processed using the Request for Proposal (RFP) method. The RFP process allows various performance criteria to be included in the evaluation process. The method is used by the CSD department to aid departments when vendor capabilities and past performance/history are measurable elements in addition to the cost factor.
